IDEA Computing Service : Development , Operations and Support is under the responsibility of the  LAAS Director .
It provides technical support for research activities, projects and platforms, administration of IT resources  and the development of the information system for the entire lab.

Staff

20 engineers and technicians in September 2012 ( see organization chart).

Missions

• Support for research  :

Part of the engineers IDEA services provide support for research activities in all research fields of the laboratory. The supported projects are annually chosen by a committee chaired by the Director. IDEA people manage also technical platform: robots, computing, CAD for research.

• Administration of IT resources :

The service manages information technology resources of the laboratory (network , servers, software, workstations), develops and maintains the laboratory information system and the associated Web applications. This activity focuses on information technology , hardware and software. It applies to common lab IT resources and research groups means.
